A Grand Opening will be held Thursday for the Germania in downtown Milwaukee.
The building has been converted in to 90 apartment units.
George Brumder arrived in Milwaukee in 1857 and established a small printing business in 1864, which he built into the country’s largest and most influential publisher of German language newspapers. Built in 1896, the Germania Building was his printing headquarters.
Brumder built a mansion for his son located at 30th and Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Travel and Leisure says it’s the best haunted place in the state.
