Kids having friends…now we can’t have that!

Eirinn Debut

Our 8-year old daughter, Kyla, dances with the Cashel Dennehy School of Irish Dance. She has dance classes two nights a week.

At the studio Kyla has become very good friends with Eirinn and they’re inseparable before and after each lesson. They don’t live close to one another but they’ve met during the summer and are planning a sleepover very soon at our house.

The same situation holds true at Kyla’s school. She gets along with every child, but has some friends that are closer than others. Thus, Kyla spends more time with them.

That’s certainly not unusual. In that regard Kyla’s like just about every other kid.

I call that normal. Healthy.

Unfortunately some education engineers needlessly find the urge to tinker and experiment by essentially interfering with and obstructing budding friendships. Their intentions and actions could be harmful.
