WWWD?

As in, What would Walt (Disney) do?

What would he think?

What would he say?

Disneyland Ticket Price Tiers for 1-day Tickets

Disneyland has price tiers for 1-day tickets, where tickets cost more on busier days. The three tiers are Value, Regular and Peak. Value dates are mostly weekdays (M-Th) in the off season. Peak dates are mostly holiday seasons including Christmas, Thanksgiving and spring break, plus midsummer weekends (F-Su). All other dates are Regular.

One Park Per Day (no park hopping allowed):

Ticket Type Ages 10+ Ages 3-9
1-Day, 1 Park Ticket (Value) $97 $91
1-Day, 1 Park Ticket (Regular) $117 $110
1-Day, 1 Park Ticket (Peak) $135 $127

Park Hopper (visit both parks each day):

Ticket Type Ages 10+ Ages 3-9
1-Day Park Hopper Ticket (Value) $147 $141
1-Day Park Hopper Ticket (Regular) $167 $160
1-Day Park Hopper Ticket (Peak) $185 $177

These tier prices have been instituted to alleviate some of the huge demand and still increase Disney profits.

This Saturday at Disneyland the long-awaited Pixar Pier will open at the California Adventure park.

Pixar Pier will feature a brand-new look for the area once known as Paradise Pier, as Pixar characters come to life on this seaside waterfront including “The Incredibles,” “Inside Out” and  “Toy Story.”

But on Friday there will be a 6-hour special sneak preview of Pixar Pier. Those anxious to be among the first to see it will have to be willing to plunk down a bundle.

$299.

That’s just about $50 an hour.

“Disneyland is a work of love. We didn’t go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money.

“We believed in our idea – a family park where parents and children could have fun- together.

“The important thing is the family. If you can keep the family together- and that’s the backbone of our whole business, catering to families- that’s what we hope to do.”

So what would Walt think about a 6-hour $299 sneak peek of his park’s latest and greatest attraction?

Maybe he’d say it doesn’t fit his vision.

Maybe he’d say it’s price-gouging.

And he’d be right.
